Branding Strategy for Local Eye Clinic Increases Market Share

An eye clinic came to Knorr Marketing several years ago to expand their share of their local eye care and eye surgery market. Since the majority of the patients are older, research indicated that the targeted audience is actually two-fold…the patient themselves and the adult care-giving children.

One of the obstacles in health care today, particularly in the age of specialization, is “ getting in to see the Doctor.” “We can’t wait that long… Mom needs help right now,” is often heard.

Knorr Marketing suggested the clinic position themselves as the clinic that: … “Can See You Tomorrow”

This branding promise required some logistical hurdles, but the clinic staff made it happen. Branding messages for the clinic are all about excellent care and keeping the promise.

The creative strategy was to use a warm, comforting “Gee I have heard him before” voice-over for the TV spots. Earl Hamner was chosen. Mr. Hamner is the creator of the very popular television series “The Walton’s.” It was his voice that introduced and closed each episode.

New patient visits quickly reached capacity. The advertising campaign was put “on hold” until scheduling could permit additional appointments. Happily for client, this situation repeated itself many times.
